n 1971, Vietnam Veterans Against the War gathered 100 soldiers to testify at the Winter Soldier hearings, condemning the US war in Vietnam. From <arch 13th-16th of this year, Winter Soldier hearings are again being rganized, this time by Iraq Veterans Against the War(IVAW). Over 200 <br>veterans and active-duty troops will be recounting the injustices they
witnessed, or were asked to carry out, at the hands of the US military and
its contractors in Iraq and Afghanistan. As the occupation of Iraq drags
into its fifth year, the Winter Soldier hearings are a historic opportunity
to support troops who are bravely exposing the lies used to justify
continued occupation.
